Text to Friend. Putting It Here for Posterity.

On the original prompt: Sorry, M-. You and the WSJ propaganda are totally wrong in cause-and-effect assignments.

Trump had this election in the bag since January 20, 2021. I’d be willing to slide the date as far right as the first Republican debate or event that he skipped in favor of “Why would I go? I already won.” The democrats and Biden administration could have been in power for some sort of Pax Americana or World Peace agreement, they could have lowered the cost of living according to every measurable factor, they could have brought all troops home without incident, and they could have returned America to the Bible and traditional family values—and they still would have lost to Trump.

Obviously all of this claim is totally immeasurable and unaccountable. Except in the key point—Trump was always going to win. I saw it. Most of his voters saw it. The democrats saw it. Trump won.

As I explained, you—in spite of every written word you have ever read and every act you have ever witnessed—believe that people reason out their lives, to include how they cast their vote. On voting you believe people conduct sufficient research, have accurate understanding of the content, and employ logic in the communication of their conscience, via the check box.

I disagree. And my evidence is Trump. In the most flattering sense I can muster, he is simply a force. And I mean force in the sense of “the thing behind the relationship between physical objects that even when named, does not actually explain the reason for the interaction”. Trump is not the result of reason or logic. You and I and everyone would be wasting time to try to assign reason to gravity. The same applies to your and WSJ (and all other outlets) attempts to detail “why” Trump.

(This is not true of all leaders or all presidents.)

Indeed, you are correct. No heavy research was necessary! All that was needed was open eyes and an ever-so-brief look around. All that was needed was ears that were not plugged up by cotton balls to hear what was being said. All that was needed was an open mind to realize with clarity what was going on.

Although the truth was evident all around us, I still had my doubts about his final win until the very end, and I’ll tell you why. I honestly thought that SO many people could have blinded and deafened themselves in order that they would not have to see, hear, and admit the truth. I assumed the existence of the possibility that SO many people could have allowed themselves to be brainwashed, with the end result being that logic and reason might not actually win the day.

However, I don’t doubt for one minute that the other side is saying the same about people who think like me. 🙃 However, I have no doubts about the existence of “gravity” and common sense, pure and simple; meanwhile, the skeptics of gravity and common sense claim that I must be insane and that there must be something wrong with me. And yet, the existence of the “force of common sense” can’t be denied, and so the skeptics must scramble to make sense of the facts one way or another.

(For people who don’t know, I’m a Libertarian who voted for “common sense.” I leave it to the reader to assign the correct proper name to that statement. I have faith that, even given only the clue “common sense,” the correct proper name can be guessed accurately with ease.)
